I was admitted in the hospital that day. You have no idea how much I love going to my school especially during the days when Mahabali, Chacha Ji or Santa Clause comes. I know that it will be the jingle bells and chocolates that Santa throw towards us that I will miss this time. For a 5 year old to drop this seemed impossible. I screamed sitting on the hospital bed covered with blue bedsheets. The entire room filled with the smell of antibiotics (or whatever medicine that I was supposed to take) and my cries. The stitches on my hand stretched painfully, still I wept and yelled until the doctor gave permission to attend the Christmas celebrations at my school.
A snowy winter afternoon, that is how I wish to describe the scene though there was no snowfall outside but in me the season shone bright. I rushed to my classroom not even giving attention to my parents. Seeing me our class teacher took me up in her arms and kissed. I wonder how many students have received this much love from your teacher. She rubbed through my hair and accompanied me to the auditorium.
This is what remains in my mind about that day. Maybe you would feel like mocking me or even cursing me for wasting your time reading this. I am sorry for that but I have a question for you...
how many of you remember the Christmas celebrations that happened 20 years before in your life?
