Childhood - a time of my life which I haven't quite left behind and don't intend to any time soon. This for me was a period where I learnt a lot from what I saw and felt. Reminiscing those experiences is something that I often do and to get an opportunity to share some of my escapades with you is one I will never pass up. The place - Maldives, the year - 2006. I was a child with an inquisitive mind and my poor mother could never (and still fails to) control me. I was excited because my birthday was coming up and my parents had promised a worthy party. My mom and I were on our way to pick up my sister from her school. As I walked down the street with her in my pretty pink sneakers and pigtails, something came over me as I informed everyone on the street that it was my birthday and that all of them were invited. My mother was embarrassed and apologized but the passersby inquired where we lived. I completely forgot about this incident until during the party when there was a knock on the door. My mom answered it and to our pleasant surprise, it was most of the people I had invited on the street. These sweet amazing people brought gifts for me and we served them cake. Needless to say I made a lot of friends and I got the perfect party just as promised. Those turn of events still makes me have faith in humanity despite the vile occurrences that happen today. All those escapades and incidents are what made me who I am today and I forever will be grateful. Treesa Thomas Payyanat St. Teresa'a College
